Ang Suffers the Greatest Blindside Ever

Well, Ang Stump is the victim of, in my opinion, the greatest tribal council in the history of Survivor. Ozzy is voted off in 9th place, becoming the second member of the jury, and leaving with a hidden immunity idol in his possession.
So, I gotta say. . .

You know it's coming. . .

My girl rocks! Engineering the greatest surprise in Survivor history, I think Cirie may have just become the greatest schemer of all time. That was great. Karina and I were yelling as they read the votes. Dave McAllister called me right after it happened and said that he and Kelly were doing the same. Amazing.

So, sorry Ang. Dan and Ang, husband and wife, voted out back to back, and becoming the first two members of the jury.

Memorable parts of the episode:
Jason being mocked as making the dumbest move in Survivor history, and then Ozzy admitting that he made an incredibly dumb move.
Jason making that really, really dumb move.
The looks on the faces of Amanda, James, Erik, and especially Eliza when the vote went down. Priceless.
Alexis being super pissed when she went out of the challenge, but still did not get any food.
My girl Cirie rocking the house. Gotta love her.

Some congratulations:
1. To Mirranda for staying in when her Jason was the primary target on back to back weeks. Nice job.
2. To Eric and Megan Wood for being the last couple standing with Natalie and Erik.
3. To Daren Blomquist for making the final 8 when he picked Parvati dead last.

Now that we are down to only 8 people left, I will give the four safest, and the four most vulnerable:
4 Safest:
4. Alison. Alexis is probably okay, unless Amanda makes them vote her out as a good faith move.
3. Andrea. Amanda seems safe, even though she was blindsided.
2. Me. I hope. Cirie has an amazing ability to orchestrate amazing plays and then fade right back in.
1. E-Wood. Natalie is off the radar.
Most Vulnerable:
4. Daren. Parvati has the numbers, but she is seen as the biggest traitor. Could turn on her somehow.
3. Megan. Erik is certainly in danger, but not as much as numbers 1 and 2.
2. Mirranda. Even though Jason was on the right side on that twist, he is still the biggest immunity threat.
1. Kelly. James is the big bad stud, and has a target on him with Ozzy gone.

I actually think Erik and Jason are much bigger immunity threats than James is. He is great in the team challenges, but has yet to show himself great in the individual ones.

I still think Natalie and Parvati are the only two remaining players with no chance of winning. Natalie has done nothing impressive, and Parvati is not very liked. I will not put him on the list, but honorable mention goes out to Jason. He is not liked at all. I think his chances of winning are EXTREMELY slim. But if he makes it to the end (by rattling off immunities) he may win the default vote.

Great stuff. Woooooo!!!!!

Does anyone else think that Dan needs a little deflating? I think you are stealing thunder from others who have had just as much influence in voting people out. Case in point...Parvati...Cirie would have no one with her had Parvati not swayed those girls...and I would say that from my vantage point Parvati was just as much to blame for Ozzy's demise as Cirie was...she was talking about getting Ozzy out from the moment he got back from the reward challenge! How about Parv's shmooze of Jason during the challenge? "ya know you could get others to like you..." that was classic and made it completely possible to pull the Ozzy stunt. And I totally think that Parv has a fab chance of winning, or at least making it to the final 4. So, here is my shout out to Daren...Go Parvati! Piper down Cirie!

Here are some things I thought were funny or interesting in this episode:
1. "What in the Nickelodeon is going on around here?" - James as a reply to the colored water during the challenge.
2. Just about everything from Erik's experience at Yap...his rediculously loud barfing while everyone else was trying to sleep, his commentary on the local attire, his awe and amazement at everything!
3. James starting to complain about people at camp again
4. James appearing not to care that much about winning as he accidentally goes out of the challenge
5. Parvati showed zero emotion during Tribal
6. Online you can watch the full video of the voting, which includes everyone's commentary on their votes: If Amanda makes it to the final three she is going to lose again, because she hasn't learned to own her betrayals (she said she went back on her word this time because everyone else was...sorry, but weak)
7. James making fun of everyone for being dumb...pretty sure he went out last season with two idols still in pocket.
8. Parvati's comments after the reward challenge in the online extras are really interesting. Apparently, the whole tribe had agreed that Jason was going to Exile Island - he wasn't going to get picked on a team, but he was lucky to pick the captain rock.

oh my word was that fun or what? We all knew that Ozzy was going to be a target but to watch it play out was so fun. Yeah yeah yeah we know Dan "your girl Cirie..."!!
Ok but I have to bring up the crossing the fingers. How long has it been that any of us have used that? I really got tickled watching them all do it and that they all knew what it meant!! Plus that in their minds that made the lie ok! I too laughed out loud when the votes were read, and Eliza was in true form with her reaction. Ozzy however was a sore loser in his comments, shame on him ;)

That hidden immunity idol has been trouble for the holder almost every season, hasn't it? It simply makes for a very secret huge target. When has it been played well? Ozzy started so strong and then just plummeted. My opinion on Parviti is that she is setting herself up to take second/third place. She is pretty good at the social game so I think she can make it far, but she is making people pretty mad. And I feel the exact same way about Cerie. So the two of them will have to take someone very unlikable to the finals if either want to win. I say they should take wide-eyed lion-maned Erik :)

So, gotta respond now to my sister's comment.
It is one thing to talk about making a dramatic move. Talking about it or thinking it up means nothing. This was evidenced last season as Amanda again and again talked about wanting to get Todd out. The fact was that she never acted on it. That, or she was unable to get others to go along with her.
Parvati did talk about getting Ozzy. It is not difficult to see that it was a good idea. The fact was, though, that nothing would have happened if Cirie had not got everyone together on it. What did Parvati do to initiate the vote? Nothing. In fact, she had trouble deciding whether or not she would go along with it.
So, I am not saying that no one else had a hand in the vote. Obviously four others did. But just as Tracey gets credit for ousting Mikey because she schemed the plan, Cirie deserves primary credit for ousting Ozzy because she made it happen.
And, again on factual notes, Parvati did not persuade those other girls to vote with them. Cirie did. It was right there in the episode.
Once again proving that Cirie rocks.
I am a little worried, though, about no one voting for her if she gets to the end. But I would bank oh her tribal council skills over Parv anyday.

I'm keeping track of every time you say something along the lines of "Natalie has no chance." Those words will come back to haunt you.

Natalie has no chance. Sorry.

in a game where sandra and vesepia can win, anything is possible. and i don't think natalie is as lame as either of those gals...now i think saying chet/crazy lady has no chance in winning would have been fair.

Hahaha! This episode was brilliant. My boy Jason was so incredibly naive - and he still got through! I love it! That was a great tribal council.

And the bit where Alexis got all pouty was pretty great too.

I can't wait for next week! Come on Jason!

Fair point by Ami about some past winners. I still don't think Natalie will win, mostly because of how she has been presented during the show. She has been mostly anonymous. When they air the show, they know who wins, so they feature the people who go far. Natalie may make the end, but I think they would be letting us get to know her better if she was going to win. I mean, honestly, what do we know about her?
In the end, Alexis has played about the same game as her, but Alexis has been featured way more. I think there may be a reason.

Did anyone else see the irony in the fact that Ozzy said that it was stupid for Jason to trust them, and then getting mad because he trusted those same peeps? Love it. Boy the editors had Ozzy looking super arrogant this week. Maybe that was just Ozzy, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

PS- I don't think you can compare Parv to Amanda. Amanda was a weenie. Parvati actually created a new alliance and I think she's a better player than you think. Cirie could have put a target on her back being the mouthpiece. I've got to support hubby over here!
